Darey Art Alade, wife’s car catches fire on Third Mainland Bridge

A car belonging to Nigerian musician Darey Art Alade and his wife, Deola, was destroyed by fire on the Third Mainland Bridge around 4 pm on Friday.

Deola took to Instagram to share videos of the burning car, expressing gratitude that the driver escaped without injury.

“It was a shocking and painful experience, but we’re incredibly grateful that the driver made it out safely,” she wrote. “No lives were lost, and that’s what truly matters.”

Videos shared on her page showed efforts to extinguish a fire erupting from the car’s engine, which continued to blaze fiercely.

Subsequent footage captured firefighters at the scene containing the flames. The vehicle was ultimately reduced to ashes.

In her post, Deola used the incident to reflect on the fleeting nature of material possessions and the importance of life, encouraging anyone facing unexpected losses to hold on to the hope of new beginnings.

“Moments like this remind us how quickly things can change and how unimportant material things become in the face of life itself. We’re not sharing this for sympathy but to remind someone that things can be replaced. Lives cannot.

“If you’re navigating a sudden loss of any kind, we hope this reminds you: we can rebuild. We can begin again and find the strength to keep going. One breath, one prayer, one step at a time,”.
