Falz: Why I might not raise my kids in Nigeria

    Published on

Folarin Falana, well known by his stage name Falz, is a well-known rapper and activist who has stated that he may not raise his children in Nigeria.

The crooner of “This Is Nigeria” gave the country’s security and economic difficulties as well as threats resulting from his activism.

A recent episode of Ifedayo Agoro’s Dear Ife Series Podcast included Falz as a guest.

“If you were going to have children, would you raise them in Nigeria?” the host questioned.

Falz answered: “Oh! It’s a profound query. I was surprised to hear this inquiry. To tell the truth, I haven’t given it much thought yet.

However, given what we are discussing—the nation’s instability, the threats resulting from my advocacy, and the complacency of Nigerians—I am unable to truly say “yes” to it.

I’m not able to say “yes” to it outright. And it’s really depressing. However, since I’m pro-Nigerian and firmly think we can do it correctly, I couldn’t just say “no.” However, I’m not sure, but let’s see [laughs].

The rapper is not married and has not yet given birth.
