Adunni Ade: Despite my beauty, I’m still not married

    Published on

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has shared a personal reflection on relationships, emphasizing that physical beauty alone cannot sustain a meaningful or lasting partnership.

Speaking candidly about her life experiences, the actress, now 48, opened up about her youthful years, when she was frequently admired and celebrated for her appearance and charm.

“I used to be the centre of attention, the most admired, the most talked about in my youthful days. Beauty opened many doors. I was loved, I was desired,” she said. “But guess what? I’m still not married.”

Adunni clarified that her single status isn’t due to a lack of value or desirability, but rather a realization that beauty, while powerful, isn’t enough to build a lasting relationship. She noted that many of the men who pursued her were more interested in her looks than in who she truly was.

“Some came for the face, not the soul. Some wanted the shine, not the substance. I learned the hard way that a woman must be more than just beautiful,” she said.

The actress and mother of one encouraged women to invest in personal growth, character, and inner strength, stressing the importance of being valued for one’s whole self rather than just outward appearance.
