The Federal Government has hailed Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for establishing a standalone Ministry of Youth Development, describing the move as a bold and visionary step towards empowering the state’s teeming young population.
The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele, gave the commendation in a press statement issued via his official social media handle, following the governor’s fulfilment of a recent promise to create the ministry.
The minister had earlier visited the governor and advocated for a dedicated ministry to coordinate youth-related policies and programs.
Olawande noted that Uba Sani’s decision signals “a deep commitment to harnessing the potential of young people in Kaduna state”.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mal. Ibraheem Musa, who announced the creation of the new ministry and the appointment of a pioneer commissioner, Barr. Victoria Ibrahim, a lawyer and certified negotiation and mediation expert, said he is to fashion out creative, innovative and implementable programmes and projects to make the new Youth Development Ministry a leading centre for youth related issues.
The creation of the new ministry is being widely viewed by observers of political developments in the state as another milestone in Governor Uba Sani’s efforts to deepen inclusive governance and accelerate human capital development in Kaduna State.
