The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has appointed former Senator Andrew Uchendu as Chairman of its Governorship Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party said the council would coordinate campaign activities across the 23 local government areas of the state.
State Chairman of ADC, Chukwudi Dimkpa, announced the appointments in a statement in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Dimkpa congratulated Uchendu as Chairman, Chimbiko Akarolo as Director-General, alongside vice chairmen, deputy directors-general, directorate leaders and other appointees.
He said the appointments come with responsibilities that demand dedication, discipline, integrity, mutual respect and accountability.
According to him, the council comprises experienced politicians, professionals, grassroots mobilisers, women, youths and other stakeholders expected to work together for electoral victory.
Dimkpa disclosed that the full membership of the council’s 12 directorates would be released separately, with two directorates announced daily from Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
He advised members whose names were not in the initial list to await the publication of the remaining directorates.
The ADC chairman urged appointees to see their positions as a call to service and to work harmoniously within the approved campaign structure.
He called on party members and council officials to remain committed to the party’s vision of building the Rivers State the people deserve.
