CSO scores Sanwo-Olu high on integrity, infrastructure

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has received a stamp of approval from a pro-democracy group for demonstrating a strong commitment to transparency and accountability in his administration.

The African Society for Democratic Advancement in its latest Sanwo-Olu assessment of developmental strides in Nigeria’s commercial capital, praised the governor for his infrastructure-driven agenda and efforts in upholding President Bola Tinubu’s renewed Hope Agenda.

The group’s Executive Director, Malachy Musawa, made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos.

Musawa said the group is proud of Sanwo-Olu’s achievements, having demonstrated dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency, adding that the development in Lagos is a testament to his hard work and commitment to serving the people of Lagos.

“After a close look at your achievements as Lagos state governor, we are delighted to have you at the helm of affairs. You have sent the right signal. We applaud your progress and appreciate you.

“We are even more delighted that you are delivering with the highest integrity standards and setting the pace for others to follow.

“Lagos State Government, under his leadership, is transforming the transportation landscape of Lagos, which has become a model for a modern city. The administration’s delivery of intra-city rail infrastructure and investment in waterways have greatly enhanced the state’s economic prospects.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to improving education was a central promise of his campaign and today has been actualised through the EKOEXCEL program, designed to address the learning crisis in Lagos public primary schools.

“As we talk, the programme has uplifted pupils from low-income families to performance levels comparable to their peers in upper-middle-income countries. In over five years, EKOEXCEL has dramatically reduced learning poverty, transforming the educational landscape of Lagos State.

“We are also aware of the over 4,000 classrooms in Lagos State public primary and secondary schools that have been rehabilitated within the current administration, and for us, these are legacies that cannot be easily matched anywhere in the country,” the statement added.
