    Governor Alia pledge to ensure peace return to Kwande, Ukum

    Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State determined to ensure insecurity is flush out at Jato- Aka in Kwande and Ukum respectively where armed herde wrecked havoc and reportedly killed innocent souls in gloves urging for calm as his administration is doing everything humanly possible to arrest the situation and ensure lasting peace in the areas.

    Governor Alia, through the Chief press Secretary Mr Tersoo Kula made available the release to journalists on Saturday in Makurdi, enjoined the affected citizens to remain calm as efforts are been intensified to tackle insecurity plaguing the areas.

    He particularly appeals to the women who took to the streets to register their grievances about the situation in their council and called on the to exercise patience as his government is working round the clock to ensure peace return to the area.

    The Governor expresses worry over the incessant attacks on Kwande communities by armed herders, wondering aloud as herders continued to visit mayhem several killings in Kwande and many lives lost at Ukum were prone to these armed herders attackers as other places witnessed relative peace recorded in the state .

    He, however, assures people of these two LGAS of immediate feedback to their situation, describing as remorseless barbarism the activities of the armed herders in the areas saying their collaborators would soon be put to shame noting as conscious efforts are already in the offing to put to an end human carriage in the State.

    “I share your pains, and I assure you that we will step up our response and prompt, too. Read my lips. The remorseless barbarity of these assailants and their sponsors will soon be a thing of the past.”

    The Governor reemphasizes his love for the affected Two LGAS and the entire state, saying his government has never abandoned them, and will never abandon them just as he promises to ensure that the land belong to indigenous people, saying no section would be excise out to strangers promising butressing as far as am concerned the entire Benue State is free from armed herdsmen takeover insisting nothing of such ever happened.

    He sympathizes with the victims of the recent attacks in the affected areas and further calls on security agencies to give the state their best by ensuring that the enemies of the state are caught and accordingly dealt with.

    He also warns those who have been using his name to stir controversy desist warning to refrain from acts capable to generate bad blood adding those pedling falsehood might be wary of the consequences of their actions, submitting am for all citizens
