    Kogi varsity students death; FULokoja mourns, declares two lecture free days

    The Federal University, Lokoja whose five students were killed in auto crash on Monday has declared a two day lecture free days to mount their deaths.

    No fewer than five students of the University were killed on Monday after when the school shuttle bus they were traveling in to the campus was crushed killing five of the students occupying the bus.

    A statement issued on Tuesday by the management and signed by the Deputy Registrar,Human resources, Vincent Oladayo Ojo for the Registrar said
    “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the tragic loss of five of our promising students, who were taken away from us too soon in a fatal trailer accident.

    The University described the dad occurrence as “wanton loss of lives which is one accident too many, leaving our university community in deep sorrow and grief.”

    “In honour of the departed souls and as a mark of respect, the University Management has declared lecture-free days effective from 12 noon on Tuesday, 18th February and all -day
    Wednesday, 19th February 2025.
    Furthermore, all university activities will be observed on a low-key, while the institution’s flag will fly at half -mast as a symbol of mourning”.

    “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends, and the entire university community during this difficult time.
    May God grant them merciful judgement and rest their souls in eternal peace”.
