Nathaniel Bassey, a Nigerian gospel musician, will serve as a preacher at the United States President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural presidential prayer breakfast.

Reverend Merrie Turner will host the prayer breakfast on January 20 at the esteemed Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, DC. Bassey revealed this on his Instagram feed, along with an event poster.

“Let’s make a noise in America,” he wrote. Until January 20, 2025, see you. The US Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast is a non-political, religious ceremony that takes place every four years prior to the swearing-in of a new government, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, or NAN.

It emphasises the role of prayer and worship in providing spiritual support for the US presidency and administration.

Before Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance are sworn in, the event will feature a lineup of notable speakers, including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick.
