Tensions flared in the Jaba Local Government Area as local youths accused Hon. Henry Marah, the representative for the Jaba constituency, of obstructing the electoral process by allegedly taking the returning officer into hiding along with the crucial results sheet. This act was said to have prevented the much-anticipated elections from taking place, leading to widespread unrest in the community and blacking of major roads.

Eyewitnesses reported that a group of enraged youths gathered in the streets, chanting slogans such as “We no go greedy!” in protest against what they described as a deliberate attempt to undermine the democratic process. The situation escalated quickly, with frustrated citizens expressing their outrage over the perceived manipulation of the election results.

According to the protesting youths, there are claims that certain individuals, self-identified as stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have conspired to ensure that Hon. Engr. Mamuda Ladan does not emerge victorious in the elections. This has fueled further anger among the community, who are demanding transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

Local leaders and community members have called for calm, urging the youths to refrain from violence and instead seek peaceful resolutions to their grievances. However, the situation remains tense as residents express their fears over the potential impacts of the alleged election interference on their democratic rights.

As the community grapples with these developments, calls for accountability and a thorough investigation into the allegations against Hon. Henry Marah and the purported PDP stakeholders have intensified. The Jaba Local Government Area is now at a critical juncture, with its citizens demanding that their voices be heard and their votes counted in a fair and just manner.

The electoral commission has yet to issue a statement regarding the situation, leaving many in the community anxious about the future of the election and the integrity of the democratic process.
