The celebration marked Nigeria’s 64th anniversary of independence from British rule, which occurred on October 1, 1960. This significant milestone honors the country’s journey toward self-governance and its people’s resilience.

As a representative of Kogi State, Hajia Khadijat Suleiman was recognized for her contributions and presented with an award on behalf of the Kogi State Government. This acknowledgment underscores her dedication to promoting the interests of Nigerians abroad and fostering connections between the diaspora community and their homeland.

The event in Dubai demonstrates the global reach of Nigeria’s independence celebrations, which are observed not only within the country but also among Nigerian communities worldwide.
