Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) has taken another significant step towards delivering reliable and cost-effective electricity to industries in Nigeria. In a recent development, NDPHC has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Electric Utilities Nigeria Limited (EUL) to sell 225 MW of electric power from their Olorunsogo Generation Company.
This strategic partnership aims to benefit industries in the Agbara Industrial Estate, a key economic hub in Nigeria. The agreement will not only ensure a steady supply of electricity to support industrial growth but also involve upgrading the transmission and distribution infrastructure in the area. This upgrade will enhance the delivery of electric power to end users and further boost economic activities in the region.
The Power Purchase Agreement between NDPHC and EUL is a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the power sector in Nigeria. By leveraging the Olorunsogo Generation Company’s capacity, NDPHC aims to meet the increasing demand for electricity from industries operating in the Agbara Industrial Estate.
With the upgrade of the transmission and distribution infrastructure, the partnership will facilitate the seamless delivery of electricity to eligible customers in the industrial estate. This move aligns with NDPHC’s commitment to the Eligible Customer Program (ECP), which aims to provide reliable and affordable power to high-volume consumers.
The collaboration between NDPHC and EUL is expected to have a transformative impact on the Agbara Industrial Estate. The availability of a consistent and cost-effective power supply will enable industries to operate efficiently, attract more investments, and create job opportunities for the local population.
NDPHC continues to play a vital role in Nigeria’s infrastructure development, particularly in the power generation sector. Through initiatives like the Power Purchase Agreement with EUL, NDPHC is actively working towards addressing the country’s electricity challenges and supporting industrial growth.
