    Nigerian Musicians Venturing into Nollywood

    The Nigerian entertainment landscape is witnessing a fusion of talents, with musicians making significant forays into the world of Nollywood. Here’s a rundown of some notable Nigerian musicians who have successfully transitioned into acting:

    1. Tiwa Savage:
    Tiwa Savage, known for her prowess in the music scene, made her acting debut in the popular MTV series “Shuga.” She later appeared in an episode of Funke Akindele’s hit series “Jenifa’s Diary.” Her feature film debut, “Water & Garri,” is scheduled for release in May 2024, where she plays the role of an ambitious fashion designer returning to her hometown.

    2. Falz:
    Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has not only captivated audiences with his comedic rap style but has also made a mark in Nollywood. He has appeared in several Nollywood productions, including “10 Days in Sun City,” “Merry Men,” and “Chief Daddy.” Falz’s role in “Jenifa’s Diary” earned him an African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Actor in a Comedy Movie or Series.

    3. Reminisce:
    Remilekun Khalid Safaru, also known as Reminisce, made his acting debut in the critically acclaimed film “King of Boys,” where he portrayed the character of Makanaki, a Nigerian mobster.

    4. Banky W:
    Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has featured in multiple Nollywood movies, including “Sugar Rush,” “The Wedding Party,” and “Up North.”

    5. Yemi Alade:
    Yemi Eberechi Alade debuted as an actress in the 2020 film “Omo Ghetto: The Saga,” where she played the role of Mogambe, the head of a drug trafficking gang.

    6. Davido:
    David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, ventured into acting with roles in Nigerian productions like “Fate of Alakada” and Hollywood’s “Coming 2 America.”

    7. Waje:
    Aituaje Iruobe, known as Waje, appeared in the drama series “She Must Be Obeyed,” where she played the role of Xcite.

    8. Peter Okoye:
    Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P, made his acting debut in the Netflix production “Lionheart,” where he played the character Arinze.

    9. Phyno:
    Phyno made his acting debut in “Lionheart,” portraying Genevieve Nnaji’s younger sibling, Obiora Obiagu.

    Chike, known for his talents showcased on music reality shows like “Project Fame West Africa” and “The Voice Nigeria,” ventured into acting with roles in the telenovela “Battleground” and the film “Gangs of Lagos.”
