In a tragic turn of events, Deputy Commissioner of Police Gbolahan Oyedemi, serving with the Force Criminal and Investigation Department in Alagbon, Lagos State, has reportedly taken his own life at his private residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

According to reports, Oyedemi, who previously served as the Aide de Camp to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, during his 11-month tenure, was found deceased in his home on Monday.

Sources close to the family revealed that Oyedemi, who usually visited his hometown for Easter celebrations, had instructed his aides to spend the holiday with their families elsewhere.

Efforts to obtain an official statement from the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, proved futile as his mobile number was unreachable at the time of inquiry.

Further details on the tragic incident are expected to be disclosed in due course.
