In the recently released end-of-the-year charts by TurnTable Charts, Asake emerged as the most-played artist on Nigerian radio stations in 2023, capturing a staggering 8.4 billion impressions. His remarkable achievement solidified his position at the forefront of the music scene, alongside other influential artists who shaped the musical landscape throughout the year.
Asake’s widespread popularity extended beyond radio airplay, as he also claimed the title of the most-streamed artist in Nigeria for 2023. His single ‘Lonely At The Top’ emerged as the most streamed song across all digital platforms, further underscoring his digital success. Remarkably, ‘Lonely At The Top’ secured the third highest impressions on radio, highlighting its enduring appeal and resonance with listeners.
Following closely behind Asake, Ayra Starr secured the second position on the list with 8.1 billion impressions, propelled by the commercial success of her hit singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Stability’. Davido claimed the third spot with 7.5 billion impressions, driven by the chart-topping success of his singles ‘Feel’ and ‘Unavailable’ from his Grammy-nominated album ‘Timeless’.
Rounding off the top five are Rema in fourth place with 7.4 billion impressions, and BNXN in fifth place with 6.4 billion impressions, further showcasing the diversity and richness of Nigeria’s musical landscape.
