    Shettima Vows Government Reward for Super Eagles’ AFCON Finalists

    Following their triumph over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with the Super Eagles, assuring them of a reward from the Federal Government for their unwavering commitment and dedication.

    In an official statement and accompanying photos shared by the Super Eagles on their official channels early Thursday, it was revealed that the Federal Government had pledged to honor the team’s remarkable journey to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

    During his visit to the team’s dressing room after their hard-earned victory in the semi-finals, Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed the government’s pride in their achievement, affirming Nigeria’s support and appreciation for their efforts.

    Accompanying Vice President Shettima were Governors Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, along with Minister for Youths, Dr. Jamila Ibrahim, prominent oil magnate Wale Tinubu, FIFA Council member Amaju Pinnick, and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

    According to reports from PUNCH Online, the Super Eagles secured their spot in the tournament final after a thrilling 4-2 victory on penalties against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

    Notably, Nigeria boasts the highest number of appearances in the AFCON semi-finals, having participated in the prestigious event 15 times.
