Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), has on Sunday visited Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau state to show support and sympathy to the victims of a recent attack that resulted in the loss of over 200 lives on Christmas Eve. Rev. Dr. Pam paid condolence visits to the families of Engr Sunday Hyat Mantu and the Dagwom Rwey of Za’a, Da Christopher Mancha, who both suffered losses earlier in the month.

During his visit, Rev. Dr. Pam addressed internally displaced persons (IDPs) and donated food items and toiletries to the victims who were spread across four different camps in the local government. He emphasized the importance of forgiveness, patience, and focusing on God, urging the people to live in harmony with one another and avoid trouble.

In response, Soden Mathias, speaking on behalf of the victims, expressed gratitude for the food donations. He also shared that three people were injured in an attack on Saturday, December 30th, and early Sunday, December 31st, but the attackers were successfully repelled by security agencies, preventing further tragedy.

At the family residence of the late Engr. Sunday Hyat in Ganawuri, Riyom Local Government Area, Rev. Dr. Pam consoled the widow, encouraging her to find solace in God, as everything that happens is part of His will. He praised Engr. Hyat’s virtues as a principled gentleman who stood up for his beliefs, expressing the pain felt by the family, the church, and the entire state at his passing.

Rev. Dr. Pam also visited the Palace of the Za’a Paramount Ruler, Da Christopher Mancha, who recently lost his daughter and mother-in-law. He offered words of comfort to the grieving family, urging them to allow God’s consolation to bring them peace during this difficult time. Da Christopher Mancha expressed his gratitude to Rev. Dr. Pam for the visit, acknowledging his role as the Executive Secretary of the NCPC and praising his ability to live up to expectations.

The visit of Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam to the affected areas and families affected by the recent attacks serves as a demonstration of compassion and support during a time of immense grief and loss. The NCPC continues to stand by the victims, providing assistance and guidance as they navigate through this challenging period.
