In the wake of an investigation into a breach of profit and sustainability rules, the Premier League has decided to deduct 10 points from Everton. The decision, the most substantial points deduction in the league’s history, comes as a consequence of the probe’s findings.

Everton, based at Goodison Park, expressed their astonishment and disappointment with the penalty, asserting their intent to appeal. A club statement conveyed, “Both the harshness and severity of the sanction imposed by the Commission are neither a fair nor a reasonable reflection of the evidence submitted.”

The deduction takes immediate effect, relegating Sean Dyche’s team into the challenging position of the relegation zone. The development marks a significant setback for Everton in the ongoing Premier League season.
