    62nd Anniversary: NITT DG, Salih- Farah felicitates with Buhari, Nigerians

    Director- General of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology ( NITT), Zaria, Dr Bayero Salih- Farah has on behalf of the Governing Council, Management and staff of the Institute congratulated the President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and the people of Nigeria on the occasion of the 62nd Independence Day Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

    In a congratulated message he personally signed, the DG commended Buhari’s leadership drive and passion to leave behind a better and improved Transportation system in Nigeria

    Notable among these he said, are the ongoing manpower and infrastructural development initiatives that seek to significantly improve efficiency and service delivery in the transportation system.

    The DG also commended the Honourable Minister of Transportation Alhaji Mu’azu Jaji Sambo and the Honourable Minister of state, Transportation Prince Ademola Adewole Adegoroye for what he described as “their relentless efforts in providing the needed policy direction in the transportation and logistics industry”

    As a training and manpower development institute, the DG/CE said NITT is committed to achieving its vision of pioneering the development of Smart Transportation System through the deployment of intelligence transport system infrastructure for the purpose of collection of real time information about the performance of the transportation industry in Nigeria

    Other strategic plans of the Institute he enumerated are to deepen research and pioneer innovations on clean energy and development of alternative fuel for the Nigerian transportation industry and to collaborate with international institutions and the private sector in the areas of research, development, training and innovation towards a vibrant, integrated, multi-model transportation system which he said would meet the needs of the Nigerian economy in consonance with international best practice

    The institute he further stated was establishing Drivers’ Development and Training Centres across the country in line with its mandate
