In a recent visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State emphasized the need for heightened military presence in the state to address the ongoing security challenges. During the visit on Thursday, Governor Radda commended the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their invaluable support in curbing insecurity and expressed his gratitude for their efforts.

Governor Radda took the opportunity to advocate for increased funding for the military, stressing the importance of providing them with the necessary resources to carry out their duties effectively. Recognizing the state’s proximity to Niger Republic, he highlighted the significance of increased surveillance to prevent any potential security breaches.

Furthermore, Governor Radda informed the Chief of Defence Staff about the establishment of the State Community Watch, a local security outfit comprising dedicated individuals from the state. This initiative aims to support the military in combating crime within Katsina State.

Responding to the governor’s visit, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s support and acknowledged the commitment of the military in addressing security challenges not only in Katsina State but also across the country. General Musa commended Governor Radda for his innovative approach in establishing a state security outfit and encouraged other states to adopt similar strategies. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between states and the military to effectively combat insecurity nationwide.

With the governor’s call for increased military presence and the ongoing efforts to enhance security measures, it is hoped that Katsina State will witness improved safety and stability in the near future.
