In a recent guest appearance on “The Honest Bunch” podcast, Blackface discussed his relationship with his former bandmates, Faze (Chibuzor Oji) and 2face (Innocent Idibia). He revealed that since their group’s split in 2004, he has maintained a good relationship with Faze, but the same cannot be said for his rapport with 2face.

Blackface expressed his readiness to resolve his issues with 2face, stating that he has forgiven him and urged his former bandmate to do the same.

“It is time to bury the hatchet. I forgive 2face for everything he has done to me knowingly and unknowingly. You better put it in your mind to forgive me because I have done nothing wrong, and I know you know what I’m talking about. It’s time for us to go to the next level,” Blackface said.

Since the dissolution of their group and 2face’s solo career, Blackface and 2face have been entangled in a series of disputes. One of the major points of contention has been Blackface’s claim that he wrote the song “African Queen,” a hit single from 2face Idibia’s debut solo album, “Face2Face.” This dispute led to Blackface consistently calling out 2face on various issues, including allegations of copyright infringements.

Tensions escalated when Blackface referred to 2face as “gay” in his diss track “War,” released in 2019. In response, 2face filed a lawsuit against Blackface, seeking ₦50 million in damages for defamation of character. Additionally, their disputes worsened in 2014 when 2face released a single called “Let Somebody Love You,” which allegedly contained lyrics written by Blackface.

Blackface outlined his conditions for resolving their issues, one of which was the removal of Efe Omorogbe, 2face’s manager, from the song. Now, after years of contention, Blackface is extending an olive branch, signaling his readiness to mend fences with his former bandmate.
