The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has embarked on three months of training for 60 unemployed youths in Ogun State under the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS) as part of the Special Public Works department of the Directorate.
The NDE Director-General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, launched the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS) 2023 training in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, stating that the training was designed to empower unemployed individuals with professional skills in environmental beautification, sanitation, and protection.**
**The Director-General, represented by Ogun State Acting State Coordinator Mrs. Oshinowo Ajoke, explained that the scheme encompasses Hard Landscaping, Soft Landscaping, Horticulture, Tiling, and Plaster of Paris (POP). Each skill area will be led by experienced resource persons to ensure proficiency at the end of the training period
Congratulating the participants for their selection, the DG expressed that the program’s goal is to reduce unemployment in Nigeria and enable participants to become self-reliant and employers of labor. He emphasized the importance of this training scheme in equipping individuals with knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the country and foster a sense of responsibility and self-dependence.**
He concluded by encouraging the participants to seize the opportunity with enthusiasm and dedication, reminding them that they were chosen for the training because of their potential to make a difference and become change agents in the country.
