In a shocking and deeply distressing turn of events, reports have emerged regarding the brutal murder and subsequent burning of members of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police Force by criminals operating in the vicinity of Ehime Mbano, Imo State. This tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday, leaving our nation in mourning.

The heartlessness displayed by these criminal elements is reprehensible and intolerable within our society and the broader nation as a whole. My heartfelt condolences go out to the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Police Force, and the families who have lost their cherished loved ones in this horrifying attack.

As we collectively seek solace and strength from the Almighty to cope with this loss, I implore our dedicated security agencies to leave no stone unturned in their quest to identify and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. At a time when our nation grapples with heightened insecurity, it is imperative that the general public exercises increased vigilance and prioritizes their own security.

Furthermore, I earnestly urge the government to reevaluate and enhance its security strategies to better safeguard the lives and properties of our citizens. In the New Nigeria that we ardently strive to build, both the government and the people must unite in the noble pursuit of securing our beloved nation.

Let us remain resolute in our commitment to creating a safer Nigeria for all.

A safer nation is not just a dream; it is achievable. – Peter Obi
