    Yuletides; Kogi police Commissioner orders adequate security measures, calls for public cooperation

    The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Akeem A. Yusuf has ordered all the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) throughout the State and their supervisory Area Commanders as well as tactical Commanders to initiate and implement well-coordinated crime prevention strategies during the Yuletide

    The was to beef up security towards the Christmas and New Year Celebrations in the state.

    They have been ordered to amongst other activities, massively deploy human, intelligence, and operational assets of the force at their disposal to major highways, places of worship, recreational centers, marketplaces, motor parks, and other places of public interest.

    A statement issued on Thursday by the command’s public relations officer,SP William Aya stated that the CP further tasked them to ensure round-the-clock visibility and confidence-boosting patrols throughout the length and breadth of the state.

    “The Commissioner of Police, while enjoining the People of Kogi State to cooperate Unflinchingly with Police officers and other security agents, reiterates the ban on the use of fireworks and warns against the use of such items.”

    He further emphasized that citizens should keep Police emergency phone lines handy and contact the nearest Police station in the event of any untoward situation that may pose threats to public peace, safety, and security.

    The Commissioner of Police on behalf of the entire officers of the Kogi Police Command wishes Kogites a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
