    World Bank Assessment Team On Water Supply Arrives Kebbi

    A World Bank team, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, has arrived in Birnin Kebbi on an assessment of the water facilities tour.

    Led by Alhaji Abdulhamid Adamu Gwaram, National Coordinator of the Sustainable Urban/Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project under the World Bank, the team will look at the level of preparedness of Kebbi state to fulfill conditions for World Bank’s assistance.

    The team which arrived the Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi this evening was received by a state government delegation comprising of the host Commissioner of Water Resources, Alhaji Bello Abubakar; the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK; Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, Alhaji Atiku Garba; Director Water Commercial in the Ministry, Alhaji Bashar Ibrahim; General Manager, Kebbi State Water Board, Alhaji Zayyanu Shehu and the General Manager, Rural Water Sanitation Agency, Alhaji Adamu Shehu among others.

    The World Bank team will undertake assessment of available infrastructure with a view to providing critical assistance, depending on the fulfillment of conditions to warrant disbursement of funds.

    Such funds are to be channeled to rural and urban water supply and sanitation in Kebbi state to enhance water supply and sanitation. The tour will end on Thursday.
