    Work begins on Benue’s first flyover after 49 years

    Work has officially started on Benue State’s very first flyover, a major development since the state was created in 1976.

    The project, located at the busy Wurukum roundabout in Makurdi, marks a significant infrastructure upgrade for the region.

    According to reports, preparations are well underway to compensate business owners and residents whose properties are affected by the construction.

    Dennis Aule, a local business owner, expressed his support for the project.

    “The flyover is a great development. If I am compensated, we can relocate. This is the first time a flyover has been built in Benue State. It’s not just good for the government, but for all the people of the state,” he said.

    Mrs. Mary Agan also praised the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia for the initiative.

    “It will benefit everyone who lives here and those traveling to the eastern part of the country. We’ve been told that compensation will happen soon. I’m very pleased with the pace of development in the state capital and the surrounding areas under this new administration,” she stated.
