Wike vs Fubara: APC Chairman in Rivers State Accuses Governor of Disrespecting Tinubu

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has leveled accusations against Governor Sim Fubara, asserting that he is showing disrespect towards President Bola Tinubu amid his ongoing dispute with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Tony Okocha, the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman in the state, criticized Fubara for allegedly failing to fulfill the commitments made by Tinubu during the peace agreement with Wike. Okocha made these remarks at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt while addressing individuals defecting to the APC.

He emphasized, “It will amount to barefaced disobedience for Gov Siminalayi not to follow to the letter, all the 8 indices in the proclamation made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in response to the Rivers State political crisis.”

Okocha specifically pointed out the governor’s alleged non-compliance with the proclamation related to presenting the Rivers State 2024 budget to the properly constituted Rivers State House of Assembly, as well as the perceived hesitancy in conducting Local Government Elections.

“The APC Rivers, (which is Mr President‘s Party), stoutly condemns this act of disobedience perpetrated by Gov Fubara and warns against the likely concomitant fallouts,” Okocha added.
