In an exclusive chat with New National Star, Comrade Olamide Lawal, Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, said hosting the event reinforces the state’s growing sports credentials.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Africa’s brightest young athletes,” Lawal said. “This reflects Governor Dapo Abiodun’s dedication to sports development and youth empowerment.”

He commended Hon. Bukola Olopade’s leadership in coordinating the event and maximizing Ogun’s sporting infrastructure. “Our facilities are now world-class, and that’s thanks to strategic investment and visionary leadership.”

Lawal, who also serves as the National President of the APC Youth League, wished the athletes the best of luck, encouraging them to compete with honor and pride. “We’re not just watching a championship—we’re witnessing the birth of legends.”
