    ‘We Will Defeat Terrorism That Has Kept Us Sleepless’ — Tinubu

    President Bola Tinubu has given fresh assurances that Nigeria would overcome the challenges of insecurity and defeat the terrorists and bandits waging war against the country.

    Speaking on Monday, while declaring open the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, which brought together the 36 state governors, President Tinubu assured that victory will be achieved.

    He acknowledged the severity of the situation when he said the acts of terrorism have given the leaders of the country at all levels sleepless nights, but added that victory against the criminals is assured.

    The Nigerian leader assured that the military and other security forces would be empowered to deal with the criminals and flush them out.

    “I am living here again to further find means to strengthen our security forces to defeat terrorism, that I promise you, it is what has kept all of us sleepless at night, but I assure you we will win with determination and resilience.

    “We will overcome this unacceptable terrorism and banditry,”

    “It is not part of our culture, it is foreign to us, so it is an economic incumberance if we do not find immediate solution to it,” he said.

    The president also commended the governors of Borno, Kaduna, and Katsina states for their improvements in security.
