Nigerian football sensation Victor Osimhen has taken the unusual step of deleting Napoli-related photos from his Instagram account following a recent controversy involving the club. Napoli had made light of Osimhen’s penalty miss against Bologna on their TikTok account, which seems to have irked the player.

Osimhen’s season has been marked by challenges, including his penalty miss and an altercation with his coach. While he avoided a fine for his outburst after being substituted in the match, he appears to be upset with Napoli’s social media handling of the situation, considering potential legal action against the club.

In a symbolic move, Osimhen has removed images of his time at Napoli from his Instagram page, redirecting his focus towards pictures related to his national team. This development has raised questions about his future with Napoli, as he has yet to sign a new contract despite ongoing discussions since the end of the 2022/23 season.

While Osimhen was considered an integral part of Napoli, recent events may have altered the dynamics between the player and the club, making the possibility of him leaving Napoli a topic of speculation, with several clubs expressing interest in his services.
