Napoli’s dynamic forward, Victor Osimhen, has been honored with the prestigious title of the best striker in the 2022/23 Serie A season.

In a remarkable campaign with Napoli, Osimhen’s exceptional performances have earned him the accolade of Serie A’s top striker for the 2022/23 season. The Nigerian international has been in sensational form, finding the back of the net on 25 occasions and counting, making him the highest-scoring African player in a single Italian top-flight campaign.

Osimhen’s remarkable season played a pivotal role in helping Napoli secure their first Serie A title in 33 years. Notably, he scored the crucial goal that ultimately sealed the championship for the Partenopei in a memorable clash against Udinese.

This season has been a breakthrough for the 24-year-old forward, surpassing his previous records in Europe. With an impressive tally of 30 goals, Osimhen has outperformed his previous best season, where he netted 20 times for Charleroi in Belgium.

In a tightly contested race for the award, Osimhen outshone other illustrious forwards in Serie A, including Inter’s Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. His exceptional contributions to the Partenopei throughout the 2022/23 campaign earned him this well-deserved recognition.

Osimhen currently leads the Serie A scoring charts and appears poised to claim the coveted Golden Boot, having established a four-goal lead over Lautaro Martinez, the second-highest goalscorer this season.

The Nigerian’s sensational performances have not gone unnoticed, as several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, have shown interest in acquiring his services. With the impending departure of Napoli’s manager Luciano Spalletti, Osimhen’s future at the club remains uncertain, fueling speculations of a potential departure.
