Vice President Kasheem Shetimma has said that Reviving Ajaokuta steel company is central to the Presidency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated this on Sunday while speaking at the flag off of the All Progressive Congress, APC s Ododo/Oyibo Governoship campaign at the Muhammadu Buhari Civic center,Lokoja.
“This is the reason why the president has created a separate ministry and even decided to appoint Kogi born Alhaji Shuaib Abubarkar Audu as the Minister for steel development to hasten the process of Reviving the Ajaokuta steel company and other steel companies in the country”.the Vice President said.
“This is why you must vote for APC for continuity so that the dream of Reviving our steel industry would be a reality. Ajaokuta when fully operational would guarantee over 500,000 jobs and over 300,000 employment opportunities to our teaming youths”.
The Vice President called for support of all members of the party to rally behind the party’s candidate Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure victory in the November 11 Governoship election in the state.
Also speaking APC candidate himself, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo said that his agenda is to unite Kogites and bring meaningful development to the people.
He said that Kogi State belongs to APC and appealed to electorate to come out en-mass on election day and vote for him and his Deputy Joel Oyibo for the needed development.
According to him, “Kogi should not be allowed to be governed by selfish individuals, who is coming out to divide the State and hide under ethnic agenda.
He said that his campaign mantra will be on “sustainability for human capital development, Youths empowerment and improvement in basic infrastructure across Kogi State”.
Ododo, however, appreciated his principal Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving the youths a sense of belonging, adding that, Koji State will witness rapid development and security when the ruling party retain power in November.
While assuring that his administration will not disappoint the people of Kogi State when elected, the Governorship Candidate also vowed to deliver on the renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Ahmed Tinubu.
