President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Muslims to promote peace, compassion, and justice in all aspects of life, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to tackling the nation’s security issues.
Speaking on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, during the opening of the 11th Triennial National Conference of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ASN), President Tinubu—represented by Ogun State Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele—commended the society’s role in national development.
He praised the ASN for its century-long contributions to Islamic education and community upliftment, describing it as a “critical pillar of our national fabric.”
“I commend the leadership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, especially its president, Alhaji (Dr) Abdul-Rafiu Ademola Sanni, for their unwavering commitment to upholding the society’s founding ideals,” he said. “The ASN has played a significant role in building God-fearing, intellectually empowered, and socially responsible citizens through its educational and spiritual efforts.”
Tinubu also acknowledged the historical relationship between his family and the ASN, expressing pride in the enduring bond.
In his welcome address, ASN President Abdul-Rafiu Sanni said the conference was a reflection of their shared dedication to unity, faith, and humanitarian service. He reiterated the society’s focus on educational growth, moral values, and fostering national unity.
Meanwhile, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Secretary-General of the National Council of Islamic Affairs (NCIA) and Registrar of JAMB, urged Muslims to guide, rather than condemn, those lacking in religious knowledge. “We must strive to educate and guide others with patience and wisdom,” he advised.
