Branch of Abdulllahi Fodio University of Science and Technology Aliero Academic Staff Union of Universities (AFUSTA), has given the Kebbi State government and the university governing board two strike ultimatum over unmet demands of the university.
The ASUU AFUSTA, in a statement on Sunday, jointly signed by the branch Chairperson, Dr Isah Musa Fakai, and the branch Secretary, Dr Gado AA, cited lack of commitment from the federal government on the implementation of 2025 ASUU/FG agreement and other demands of the university as the reason for the two weeks warning strike which is effective from July 31 to August 13, 2026.
”The strike will be sustained till the federal government and ASUU 2025 agreement is fully implemented and other welfare issues of members are met by the university governing board in Kebbi State.
”Unfortunately, communications with the university governing body and other stakeholders did not yield any positive results hence the reason to down tolls until all the demands are met.
”If the demands are not met at the expiration of warning strike it will snowball into a full blown indefinite industrial action,” it warned.
