In an announcement made by Eddison Agbenyegah, the Deputy High Commissioner of Ghana to Nigeria in Abuja, it has been revealed that the University of Ghana has officially commenced the application process for West African scholars seeking to enroll in the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year.

Agbenyegah emphasized that the application portal will be accessible for a limited two-day period, providing aspiring scholars with a unique opportunity to pursue higher education in Ghana. He further underscored the cost-effectiveness of studying in Ghana as opposed to more developed nations, highlighting the advantages it offers in terms of career development and prospects for graduates.

The University of Ghana’s commitment to accessible education is evident through its reduced tuition fees for all ECOWAS students since the 2021/2022 academic year. Additionally, it offers the convenience of tuition payment in Nigerian naira at Access Bank Nigeria and has implemented flexible payment plans to ease the financial burden on parents and students.

Furthermore, Agbenyegah mentioned that the university has already initiated the screening process for prospective students, and those in need of clarification or additional information can seek assistance at the high commission in Abuja. This initiative aims to promote Ghana as a favorable destination for higher education, emphasizing affordability, opportunities, and support for students from West Africa.
