Ulasi pushes for Obi’s return to PDP, warns against Wike’s grip

    Published on

Veteran PDP chieftain Dan Ulasi has thrown his weight behind a possible return of Peter Obi to the party, describing the former presidential candidate as “a reference point in honesty and hope.”

Speaking on AriseTV, Ulasi said Obi’s integrity and credibility could be a game-changer in 2027—if internal rifts like the influence of Nyesom Wike are addressed.

“Peter Obi doesn’t speak from both sides of his mouth. He is honest, and Nigerians know it,” Ulasi said.

However, he acknowledged the internal rot within the PDP, blaming the 2023 zoning debacle for triggering deep divisions that empowered Wike.

“Wike is not a magician,” he said. “The PDP must move beyond one man’s control.”

Ulasi, a member of the committee preparing for the PDP’s November convention, said party reforms were in motion, and new leadership will emerge before 2027 campaigns kick off.
