In a bold demonstration of his administration’s commitment to education and development, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has fulfilled his promise to support the smooth take-off of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK), which is set to commence academic activities in September 2025.

During a progress review meeting held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Saturday, Sani presented official vehicles to the Pro-Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of the university, alongside a bus each for staff and students — a significant step toward operational readiness.

The meeting, attended by university board members and stakeholders led by His Lordship Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, also served as a platform to review the institution’s preparedness.

The chancellors lauded Sani’s unwavering support, especially in facilitating the establishment of the university and preparing it for the admission of pioneer students.

They described the state’s proactive backing as instrumental in laying a strong foundation for the institution’s future.

Sani reiterated his commitment to supporting FUASK with essential infrastructure and social amenities.

“Our administration is committed to supporting the university through the provision of infrastructure like roads for better access. We are also working with security agencies to ensure a safe and secure learning and teaching environment, while engaging federal stakeholders and partners to fast-track the university’s growth and operational readiness,” he stated.

He further emphasised the institution’s potential impact on the region’s development.

“FUASK as a beacon of hope — a catalyst for change and a vehicle for transforming the socio-economic landscape of our region. We shall continue to work closely with the management team to ensure that the institution fulfills its mission to develop practical knowledge, advance innovation, and empower future generations,” he stated.

The gesture reflects the administration’s education-driven development strategy and underscores its commitment to empowering youth and revitalising Southern Kaduna through sustainable investment in higher education.
