Two teenagers shot dead as robbers attack Lagos barbershop

    Published on

Tragedy struck in the Cele Nica community, Ojo Local Government Area of Lagos State, after armed robbers invaded a barbershop and killed two teenagers identified as Chijindu and Akorede.

The attack occurred around 9 p.m. at Abengo Close, where the assailants — numbering three — stormed the shop pretending to be customers before opening fire.

Residents said they heard gunshots and rushed to the scene, only to find the barber and his two teenage clients in a pool of blood. While the barber survived and is currently hospitalised, both teenagers died from gunshot wounds.

According to a resident, Duuni Olafeso, the robbers took money and phones from the victims before one of them, angered by Chijindu’s claim that he had only N1,000 for a haircut, ordered his accomplices to “waste them.”

The late Chijindu’s boss, Ugochukwu, who installs solar panels, said the teenager had just returned from a work trip earlier that day. “I rushed him to the hospital myself, but despite the doctors’ efforts, he died around midnight,” he said.

Police authorities are yet to issue an official statement as residents demand increased security patrols in the area.
