    Troops apprehend high-profile terrorist collaborator Suri and 7 others in Borno, resulting in six fatalities.

    During the biweekly update on Armed Forces of Nigeria operations between 13-20 July 2023 in Abuja, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, announced significant achievements by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State.

    The operation resulted in the neutralization of six terrorists, and the arrest of a high-profile terrorist collaborator known as Bulama Suri, along with seven others. Suri was identified as a terrorist spy and collaborator residing in Gaulawa and Gwazari villages, located in Kukawa and Konduga Local Government Areas of Borno State.

    Additionally, the troops successfully rescued ten kidnapped civilians during the operation. They also seized a substantial amount of weaponry and items from the terrorists, including seven AK-47 rifles, two FN rifles, one 36-hand grenade, and 100 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition. Moreover, two mobile phones, foodstuffs, condiments, one cart, and the sum of N2.1 million were recovered during the operation
