The Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area, Rivers State, was shaken by an explosion.
Late on Monday night, an explosion happened close to the Bodo-Bonny Road, which is still under construction.
Although the precise reason of the explosion is still unknown, the major pipeline’s impacted section is already on fire.
Given previous threats by militant organizations to strike oil sites in the state, it is still unclear if human intervention caused the disaster.
