President Bola Tinubu has called on investors from France, China, and Denmark to seize opportunities presented by Nigeria’s open door policy, fostering mutually beneficial economic partnerships.

During a reception at the State House in Abuja on Thursday, Tinubu received letters of credence from the newly appointed ambassadors of France, Denmark, and China—Marc Fonbaustier, Jens Hansen, and Yu Dunhai, respectively.

In his address to Fonbaustier, Tinubu expressed eagerness to strengthen ties with French President Emmanuel Macron during his upcoming state visit to France. He highlighted Nigeria’s significance as the largest country in Africa and its role as the headquarters of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

“Nigeria has an open door policy, and we welcome your investors to explore the opportunities here,” Tinubu stated. He emphasized the importance of collaboration for the prosperity of Africa, ECOWAS, and Nigeria.

Turning to the Danish ambassador, Tinubu expressed his hope for enhanced bilateral relations. “Denmark is known for its commitment to democratic values and human rights, and we are eager to work together in these areas,” he noted, mentioning potential partnerships in energy, education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

As he met with the Chinese ambassador, Tinubu conveyed his gratitude to President Xi Jinping for his hospitality during Tinubu’s recent visit to Beijing and for the country’s participation in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He urged Dunhai to coordinate with Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry to ensure that agreements made are effectively implemented.
