‎Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the N21 billion Oko-Olowo Junction Flyover in Ilorin, Kwara State.

‎The project is one of 27 road interventions in 15 states under the Federal Government’s drive to upgrade road infrastructure and improve connectivity nationwide.

‎In a statement by his Media Assistant, Nasif Sholagberu, Mustapha said the approval will improve road safety, ease gridlock, and boost economic activity along one of Kwara’s busiest corridors.

‎The senator recalled moving a motion in the Senate on November 26, 2024, seeking urgent construction of a flyover at Oko-Olowo due to frequent accidents and congestion at the junction.

‎He said he later engaged the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, to push for the project.

‎Mustapha thanked Tinubu for responding to the needs of Kwara people and for backing critical infrastructure across the country.

‎He also commended the Federal Ministry of Works for facilitating the approval and expressed optimism that swift execution of the flyover would deliver lasting benefits to motorists, residents, and businesses in Kwara State.
