Tiv communities in Nasarawa North Senatorial District have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for second term, Senator Ahmed Wadada for Nasarawa State governor and Governor Abdullahi Sule for Senate in 2027 elections.
The endorsement was announced at the weekend during the meeting of Tiv stakeholders in Lafia, the state capital.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Wadada, told the gathering his administration would tackle humanitarian challenges, insecurity, infrastructure deficit, energy, agriculture and rural development if elected.
He also promised to prioritise education, healthcare, human capital development and empowerment of women and youths, while consolidating achievements of past administrations.
Earlier, President of Tiv Development Association, Barnabas Zayol, said Tiv people in Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba Local Government Areas would mobilise votes for APC in 2027.
Zayol said the decision to back the ruling party was to attract development to rural communities.
”The decision we have taken is an uninsurable risk, even if it is not going to work, let us die with them. We are strong, we are firm, we will not make a second decision,” he declared.
He commended community leaders for sensitising residents.
Governor Sule, represented by Commissioner for Works and Transport, Yakubu Kwanta, thanked the Tiv community for support, saying endorsement shows confidence in APC leadership.
Kwanta said the government has engaged Tiv leaders across three local government areas to address their concerns and explain development priorities.
He said engagements boosted confidence in Wadada’s seven-point agenda, challenging opposition candidates to present clear programmes that address the needs of Nasarawa people.
