Chief Tony Okocha, the Rivers State Representative at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), declared the recent engagement with Niger Delta stakeholders and contractors as a significant triumph. The gathering, long overdue due to various challenges, finally took place at the state office of the Commission.

During the session, Chief Okocha urged contractors to resume work on their projects, assuring them of prompt payments upon completion. He stressed the importance of the meeting and emphasized the need for constructive dialogue based on sound arguments rather than sentimentality.

Chief Okocha underscored his commitment to serving the people and defending their interests, dismissing any attempts at intimidation or influence. He expressed concern over the prevalence of substandard projects and pledged to address the issue.

Furthermore, Chief Okocha outlined plans to enhance the efficiency of the commission by automating administrative processes and ensuring accountability.

In a bold move, he announced surprise inspections of project sites to ensure compliance with standards, warning that any deviations would result in project closures. Chief Okocha’s resolute stance signals a new era of accountability and progress in the region’s development efforts.
