Please, where is the voice of the opposition in all of these budget brouhaha?? Whether Sen. Ningi is right or wrong, shouldn’t the opposition party speak up and capitalize on the issue of the moment. The issue of budget padding is a recurring issue and debate. Whether national assembly can pad budget or not is a discussion for another day.
However, will the party keep quiet while their members are harassed, intimidated and embarrassed? Opposition should speak up and capitalize on issues like this. Opposite party should always keep the ruling party on their tiptoes or at least harass them into thinking twice before doing certain things.
Is the major opposition party dead in Nigeria. Where is the major opposition party, I ask again? Social media have become the most vibrant opposition party in Nigeria.

For me, the procedure was wrong. The matter should have been referred to the senate committee on ethics and privileges but instead the senate choose to wash their dirty linen on live television in a badly scripted Nollywood movie to embarrass sen. Ningi and impress the executive arm of government. How can we strengthen the instituions when national assembly leaders become mere script writers and directors for executive arm??

Well to me, that movie didn’t embarrass Sen. Ningi. Nigerians now see him as a hero. The movie completely embarrassed the senate, national assembly and the senate President.
Nigerians are only hearing billion billions. When a member says, some senators got 500 million while others get nothing, majority of Nigerians see it as cash been shared in national assembly. They see it as their money that senators and members have collected.
Who wins at the end of the day?
