Dangote forecasts Naira appreciating to N1000 per US dollar in 2026

The Chairman of the Dangote Group and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has forecast that the Nigerian naira would appreciate to N1,100 per dollar in the current year (2026).

Dangote said this on Tuesday at the launch of the Nigeria Industrial Policy in Abuja.

According to him, sustained reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government mean better days are ahead.

He said results have started trickling in, noting that manufacturers are very happy with Tinubu’s government.

“I mean, today, if you look at it, Your Excellency, I believe with the policies that you have implemented in government, people now have started seeing the result, and manufacturers are very, very happy.

“Today, the dollar is N1,340. Mr. Vice-President, I can assure you that, with what I know, by blocking all this importation, the currency this year will be as low as N1,100 if we are lucky,” he stated.

Recall that Chairman of First HoldCo, Femi Otedola, also predicted that the naira would strengthen against the dollar and trade at N1,000 per dollar before the end of the year, citing increased capacity in Dangote Refinery.

The Naira appreciated to N1,335.96 and N1,390 per dollar on Tuesday at official and parallel foreign exchange markets, respectively.
