“Soyinka: Atiku and Obi’s Separate Bids Gifted Victory to Tinubu in 2023 Election”

Professor Wole Soyinka has stated that Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi willingly gave victory to President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election by contesting separately under the Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party, respectively.

Soyinka has been countering the narrative that Tinubu lost the election, emphasizing that the election outcome reflected what happens when a political party splits itself so close to an election. He likened it to a voluntary donation of the spoils of war and noted that it might lead to further political realignments.

Soyinka also mentioned the Datti interview as a factor contributing to the political dynamics in the West African sub-region, where the call to arms becomes literal, especially among those dealing in arms.

Please note that this news appears to be fictional, as there is no evidence of such an election or event occurring in reality up to my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021.
