SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles has been selected as the venue for Super Bowl 61 in 2027, as confirmed by the NFL following the approval of team owners during a meeting in Dallas. This 70,000-seat facility, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers in Inglewood, previously hosted Super Bowl 56 in 2022, where the Rams secured a victory over Cincinnati with a score of 23-20.

Expressing enthusiasm about the decision, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell stated, “We’re very excited to bring the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles for the second time in five years. The city did an outstanding job hosting Super Bowl 56 in the incredible SoFi Stadium, and we believe that Super Bowl 61 will be even more memorable.”

Securing the Super Bowl for 2027 adds to the list of major sporting events at the LA venue, with some matches of the 2026 World Cup scheduled to take place there, along with its involvement in the 2028 Summer Olympics when the city plays host.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass commented, “The Los Angeles region continues to attract world-renowned events, and we look forward to yet again hosting the Super Bowl.”

Looking ahead, Super Bowl 58 is slated for February 2024 in Las Vegas, followed by the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans and the 2026 Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, hosted at the San Francisco 49ers’ home.

Super Bowl 61 holds significance as the ninth NFL championship hosted in the greater Los Angeles region and marks 60 years since the inaugural Super Bowl in 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Rams chairman Stan Kroenke expressed gratitude to Commissioner Goodell and the league’s partners for the opportunity to once again showcase the league’s premier moment.
