Award-winning Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has broken her silence on the real reason behind her long-standing feud with Tiwa Savage, revealing that the misunderstanding was caused by her former personal assistant.

In a recent interview on the OffAir Show, the “Right Now” hitmaker explained that she was unaware of what led to the fallout until years later when she met her ex-assistant in London.

Seyi Shay said the former aide confessed to having an affair with Tiwa Savage’s then-husband, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Tee Billz — a revelation that explained the sudden breakdown of her friendship with the “Somebody’s Son” crooner.

She said Tiwa Savage might have assumed she knew about the affair and chose to ignore it, which made her feel betrayed.

“To cut the long story short, it turns out the girl was having a relationship with my girl’s [Tiwa Savage’s] husband and I didn’t even know,” Seyi Shay recounted. “She [my ex-PA] told me all of that. It must have been true; I don’t think she would say all of that as a joke.”

The singer admitted that she felt disgusted after learning the truth, especially because she had no idea what had been happening behind her back.

“When she told me this I was disgusted because we were rolling together and doing things together, meanwhile Tiwa probably thought I knew about it,” she said. “You can just imagine the anger. It’s so painful. If that was me, I would have done worse.”

Seyi Shay’s revelation has stirred reactions online, with fans revisiting the pair’s tense encounter years ago and commending her for finally shedding light on the long-misunderstood fall out.
