Roma manager Jose Mourinho has been suspended for one Serie A fixture due to what has been described as a “provocative” gesture made toward the Monza bench.

This incident led to Mourinho receiving a red card from the referee during second-half stoppage time in a recent game. The incident occurred after Stephan El Shaarawy scored a late winning goal.

Serie A’s sports judge announced the suspension on Tuesday, which will prevent the 60-year-old manager from being on the touchline during Roma’s upcoming match.

As a result of this suspension, Mourinho will not be able to manage his team in their upcoming game against his former club, Inter Milan.
